About

Pianissimo – Where heritage meets exquisite design.

Pianissimo is a Slovenian company that brings together the worlds of music, design, woodworking, and the circular economy. In our workshop in Zagorje ob Savi, we design and handcraft unique music-inspired products from solid wood, while also creating furniture and interior pieces from decommissioned grand pianos, upright pianos, other musical instruments, and music equipment.

On the one hand, we create entirely new products inspired by the distinctive shapes, details, and symbolism of the musical world. Using carefully selected solid wood, we craft tables, shelving units, lighting, stands, coat racks, serving pieces, and other objects for contemporary homes, business premises, hotels, restaurants, and music studios.

On the other hand, through our Zero Waste Instruments – Circular Life of Musical Instruments project, we preserve and reuse materials and components from decommissioned musical instruments. We believe that an instrument which can no longer fulfil its original purpose is not waste. It is a valuable source of craftsmanship, cultural heritage, personal memories, and, last but not least, high-quality materials.

We carefully inspect each piece, document its provenance, and assess how its components can be meaningfully incorporated into new products.

In this way, decommissioned instruments begin a new life as bespoke bars, display cabinets, tables, wine racks, lighting, stands, coat racks, music boxes, and other unique objects. Whether a product is made from solid wood or from materials with decades or even centuries of musical history, the common denominator always remains the same: musical inspiration, uncompromising quality, and distinctive craftsmanship.
